DragonSpeed Confirms 2020 ELMS Return Alongside IMSA LMP2 Program

Hard on the heels of DragonSpeed's announcement of a full-season program in the LMP2 class of the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship, the team today confirmed its return to the ACO European Le Mans Series in 2020, marking its fifth season in the championship.

From its European base in Aix-en-Provence, France, DragonSpeed will field a new LMP2 ORECA O7-Gibson at all six ELMS rounds while also targeting a fourth consecutive entry for the 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance classic. The driving squad will once again be led by Britain's Ben Hanley, with the team's second driver to be announced shortly and the final seat still to be decided.

DragonSpeed team principal Elton Julian said, "Our plans have come together quickly in the past week, and we couldn't be more delighted to confirm our continued participation in the ELMS. The competition in the series just gets stronger and stronger, so we are preparing for an all-out effort to repeat our 2017 success as champions, and hoping to extend that to include another assault on Le Mans."
