2017 Acura RLX Takes The Stage
2017 Acura RLX |
The 2017 Acura RLX, the most lavishly equipped and technologically advanced Acura sedan goes on sale tomorrow at Acura dealerships nationwide, with a manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) starting at $54,450.
The 2017 Acura RLX sedan offers a compelling blend of refinement and spirited driving performance, boasting an abundance of standard premium features. The RLX is powered by a powerful and smooth 310-horsepower, direct-injected DOHC i-VTEC V-6 engine that contributes to the flagship sedan's EPA fuel economy ratings of 20/30/23 mpg (city/highway/combined). The Sport Hybrid RLX model, which shares some hybrid and Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) technologies with the Acura NSX, will go on sale later this Fall.
The two-wheel drive RLX continues to benefit from Acura's Precision All-Wheel Steer™ (P-AWS™) system, enabling changes to rear toe angle to create a rear-wheel steering affect that sharpens both low- and high-speed maneuverability and stability. The RLX models come standard with Acura's distinctive Jewel Eye™ LED headlights, 19-inch bright-finished wheels and next generation AcuraLink connected car system.
Lavish dashboard |

- Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS)
- Forward Collision Warning (FCW)
- Lane Departure Warning (LDW)
- Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS)
- Road Departure Mitigation (RDM)
- Blind Spot Information (BSI)
- Cross Traffic Monitor
The 2017 Acura RLX is available in two grades: the RLX with Technology Package and RLX with Advance Package each delivering exceptional levels of technology-enhanced performance, comfort and convenience.
Performance and Safety
The rear look nicer now |
The chassis of the Acura RLX received multiple tuning refinements to improve overall ride and handling quality and reduce noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) in 2016. Front and rear shock absorbers received an increase in piston rod diameter and the rear stabilizer bar's stiffness is decreased. The front and rear spring rates and shock absorber damping force were all retuned to provide better shock absorption and road surface tracking. Furthermore, the front upper spring/shock mounts and rear bump stops were also modified.
Utilizing Acura's next-generation Advanced Compatibility Engineering II (ACE™ II) body structure, along with seven airbags (including driver's knee airbag), the RLX earned a 5-star NCAP Overall Vehicle safety rating and is anticipated to earn a TOP SAFETY PICK rating from IIHS. The RLX also offers intuitive technology that reduces stress and simplifies the driving and ownership experience – with features such as Electronic Parking Brake with Automatic Brake Hold, a capless refueling system, Smart Entry/Smart Start keyless access system, easy-to-use and customize dual touch screens, "tensionless" e-pretension front seatbelts, and available rain-sensing windshield wipers, among others.
