Kanaan to Foyt team (2nd Update)
Tony Kanaan to replace Munoz |
UPDATE This rumor is upgraded to 'fact' with today's announcement Kanaan will drive the #14 Foyt car.
09/09/17 RACER reports that Kanaan is expected to sign this week to wheel the No. 14 ABC Supply Chevy next year, although it's not confirmed by the four-time Indy 500 king or Larry Foyt.
"We've been talking to Tony for a few months and he's one of the guys we are definitely interested in," team president Larry Foyt said. "We have been talking to several drivers and haven't signed anyone yet."
A.J. said recently he liked the 2013 Indianapolis 500 winner because he was "aggressive and always runs good at Indianapolis. I think he can still win races."
Our 2018 IndyCar Silly Season Page has been updated accordingly.

According to rumors out of Brazil, Tony Kanaan will definitely be leaving the Chip Ganassi Racing team at the end of the 2017 season and is in talks with both the Schmidt Peterson and Harding Racing teams about a possible ride for 2018.
SPM is looking to fill the #7 seat vacated by Aleshin and Harding would like a 2nd experienced driver alongside Gabby Chaves.
