Chevy rumors abound at dealer convention
According to a post on Corvette Forum by Nate Chandler, Chevrolet showed two photos of the upcoming model and described it as a “super car." The pictures didn’t reveal much but Chandler said it “definitely looked mid-engined" and had a front bumper that resembled the Corvette ZR1.
That’s not much to go on but previous spy photos have shown the Corvette will have a rakish windscreen, a double bubble roof and LED lighting units. The model also appears to have two buttresses which connect to the cabin and are separated by a cover which hides its mid-engine.
There’s no word on what will power the model but Cadillac president Johan de Nysschen recently used the New York Auto Show to shut down speculation that the Corvette would use the company’s new twin-turbo 4.2-liter V8 which produces 550 hp (410 kW) and 627 lb-ft (850 Nm) of torque in the 2019 CT6 V-Sport.
In a later post on Facebook, Chandler said the 2019 Camaro facelift will have familiar styling but a “curvier" front end. The car is also rumored to have LED daytime running lights surrounding the headlights and a ventilated hood on the Camaro SS. The poster also claims there will be a “new entry level LS model starting at $26k" but that seems odd considering the current Camaro 1LS starts at $25,905.
Chevrolet is also rumored to have confirmed an “electric performance vehicle," and several new editions of the Colorado. Chandler also said the Cruze, Malibu, Spark and Trax will be getting facelifts. carscoops
