Building on success with the most prestigious car manufacturers, Formula E will officially become an FIA world championship starting next season. Clearly part of a constant process of innovation, the famous electric championship will introduce the Gen2 EVO, a restyled version of the current car. As part of this aerodynamic evolution, DS Automobiles and its team partner DS TECHEETAH present the race livery design of their future single-seater car for Season 7 (2020-2021).

DS Automobiles and its sporting entity DS Performance has successfully completed the transition between the two generations of Formula E cars. With a motor that increased to 250kW and a battery of 52kWh, the 100% electric discipline has benefited from a profound transformation between 2018/2019 by allowing drivers to compete in an entire E-Prix distance without car change-overs.

Aligned with DS TECHEETAH, the DS E-TENSE FE19 won the two Championship ‘Drivers’ and ‘Teams’ titles last season. This season DS E-TENSE FE20 is succeeding on urban circuits around the world (with a podium in Santiago last month), the next generation is already under study.

For an avant-garde discipline like DS Automobiles, Formula E will evolve the design of its car for the 2020/2021 world championship. Modification of the front and rear appendages, addition of a ‘shark fin’ on the bonnet and opening of the front wheel arches, the Gen2 EVO symbolizes the uniqueness of the discipline and embodies the electric motor sport of tomorrow.

Supervised by DS Automobiles Design Studio, the design of the Gen2 EVO with the DS TECHEETAH Team incorporates the facelift imagined for season 7 while retaining the black and gold codes of the DS E-TENSE FE20. Through this new appearance that foreshadows its future livery, the premium brand of Groupe PSA, holder of the ‘Drivers’ (Jean-Eric Vergne) and ‘Teams’ (TECHEETAH) titles in Formula E, strengthens the expression of its knowledge – with a technological and innovative spirit.

The revelation of the Gen2 EVO by Formula E will take place on 3 March, 2020 at the Geneva International Motor Show on the FIA stand in the presence of the DS TECHEETAH Team and its driver Jean-Eric Vergne, the first double Formula E champion and ambassador from DS Automobiles.

"Formula E is as much a place of experimentation as it is a field of expression for DS Automobiles. We demonstrate our vision by having been the first premium manufacturer involved, our expertise in electrification by winning races and championships and our know-how by multiplying innovative actions around competition. Being the first team to present the design of our future single-seater is a new step in this commitment. "
