08/07/18 Below is what would be a perfect 2019 IndyCar schedule. We ditched the Indy Grand Prix – a loser of an event with very few in attendance, and in place of that we close out the season at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on the oval – a proper race at a proper venue. The only issue is that IMS moved the boring Brickyard 400 to September 8th next year so they can shoot a cannon into the grandstands in September and not hit anyone instead of July when they won't hit anyone. The solution to save the loser Brickyard 400 is to run it on the Saturday of that weekend as a doubleheader with the IndyCar grand finale on Sunday. Then you would have an event that might just pack the grandstands, especially if a couple IndyCar drivers race in the Brickyard 400 and a couple of NASCAR drivers (Kyle and Kurt Busch, Kyle Larson, etc) race in the IndyCar race. It would be a combined ticket that would excite both the IndyCar and NASCAR fans.
