Soon you will not have to ride your motorcycle
Ultimately a riderless police interceptor like this can hunt you down |
BMW Motorrad will showcase a riderless motorcycle prototype for the first time in the U.S. at CES 2019 in Las Vegas, NV. The BMW R 1200 GS, developed by BMW engineers as a research prototype for future mobility innovations, will demonstrate its ability to ride off, accelerate, corner, and slow down to a standstill – completely independent of its rider – in demonstrations held during the global consumer technology event.
While the prototype is not intended for road use, the underlying technology will serve as a platform for the development of future systems and functions to make motorcycles safer, smarter, and have a higher level of connectivity to thrive in the future mobility environment.
