TV News: Weekend Motorsports USA TV Rating & TV Viewers

FS1 got 2.52 million TV viewers for Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Goodyear 400 at Darlington. Last year’s race was held a month later against less competition, but that event got 2.63 million viewers.

ESPN’s live telecast of the Formula 1 Japanese Grand Prix won by Max Verstappen at 1:00am Sunday morning averaged 534,000 TV viewers, up 10.1% over 485,000 for the 2024 race. The audience peaked at 660,000 viewers between 1-1:15 a.m. ET.

The broadcast time of the race in the USA means it never gets high viewership

239,000 or 44.8% of the TV viewers were in the all-important 18-49 age group whereas the NASCAR race was under 20%.
