IndyCar News: Lundgaard tops Palou in Thermal Club Practice 2
Arrow McLaren Chevy driver Christian Lundgaard (pictured) turned a lap of 1m40.6421s to top IndyCar Practice 2 at the Thermal Club in California. The Dane was held for ten minutes of the session due to a penalty for being late for the driver’s weigh-in.

Alex Palou, who topped Practice 1 on Friday in his #10 Ganassi Honda was 2nd, 0.4826s behind Lundgaard.
Marcus Ericsson was the fastest of the Andretti Hondas, 0.6410s behind Lundgaard in third.
Marcus Armstrong was 4th in the Meyer Shank Racing Honda, 0.71s behind Lundgaard.
Pato O’Ward rounded out the top-5 in the #5 Arrow McLaren Chevy, 0.79s behind his teammate.

Robert Shwartzman, who was stopped by a fire yesterday in his PREMA Chevy, had an issue with his gearbox and only did an install lap in Practice 2.

Team Penske’s Scott McLaughlin left the pit lane after experiencing brake problems, and something fell off his car when it returned to the track. IndyCar officials have issued a post-event monetary fine.
