F1 News: Lewis Hamilton crashes Ferrari F1 car in Barcelona (Update)
Ferrari’s second Formula 1 test day in Barcelona was cut short, after Lewis Hamilton stuffed the car into the barriers in the morning session of Day 2 of a 3-day test.
The car was damaged beyond repair, so Charles Leclerc never got to drive it in the afternoon of Day 2, and the third day had to be scrapped as well.

Old man Lewis Hamilton has crashed his 2023 SF-23 Ferrari F1 car during the team’s pre-season testing program in Spain.
The seven-time champion, who turned 40 recently (old for F1 standards), was unhurt after running out of talent and losing control of the team’s 2023 car in the third sector at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on Wednesday.
Ferrari declined to comment on the incident, which happened on Hamilton’s second day of running at the Spanish track, where he is sharing the car with teammate Charles Leclerc.
The seven-time world champion hit the barriers with a modified version of Ferrari’s 2023 challenger – the SF-23 – which sustained damage to its suspension and aerodynamic bodywork pieces.
Coming off a wet and cold session at Fiorano last week, the Ferrari mechanics are now scrambling to fix the damaged car, so Charles Leclerc can take over.
