IMSA Rolex 24 Hour 6: #40 Cadillac leads at 1/4-mark

At the 6-Hour mark of the Rolex 24 at Daytona, the #40: Cadillac of Wayne Taylor Racing, driven by Jordan Taylor, Louis Deletraz, Alex Lynn, Kamui Kobayashi was out front.

Although the #60 Acura was shown in the lead at the exact 6-hour mark, it really wasn’t and the #40 Cadillac was soon back out front and pulling away.

Kamui Kobayashi had the #40 Wayne Taylor Racing Cadillac V-Series.R on fire, climbing from sixth to first after a Full Course Yellow restart to lead the Rolex 24 At Daytona after five hours and on into hour 6. He was driving like a man possesses

Acura Meyer Shank Racing suffered a significant setback in the Rolex 24 at Daytona when Alex Palou stopped on track with suspension failure in hour five. As Palou exited the West Horseshoe, the left-rear suspension of the Acura suffered a critical issue. Palou pulled over at the exit of turn six and his car was towed back to the garage.

Paul Miller Racing is in the lead in GTD PRO after Jesse Krohn drove the #48 BMW M4 GT3 EVO from third to first dispatching the #64 Ford Mustang.

The two yellow Corvettes were second and fourth at the six-hour mark. Nico Varrone led the charge in the No. 4 with Daniel Juncadella completing the opening driver rotation in the No. 3.

The No. 91 Trackhouse by TF Sport Corvette Z06 GT3.R was on the GTD PRO lead lap with Shane van Gisbergen in the middle of his opening stint and running 10th. Connor Zilisch drove a double-stint to start with Ben Keating following in a two-hour triple stint.

In GTD the #70 Inception Racing Ferrari is out front over the #021 Ferrari.

The 75 Express Mercedes-AMG GT3 is the second official retirement of the race, joining the No.63 Lamborghini SC63.

A team source confirmed an apparent engine failure for the #75. A visibly upset Jules Gounon said: “It’s tough to take after two weeks here to be out by 7:00.”
