Alex Bowman |
Alex Bowman is a two-time NASCAR Cup Series race winner and all but guaranteed his third consecutive playoff appearance with his March 1 victory at Auto Club Speedway.
And now the driver of the No. 88 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE has a contract extension.
One day before NASCAR resumes its 2020 season, Bowman broke the news on Twitter that he will be back with 12-time Cup Series champions Hendrick Motorsports in 2021.
Hendrick Motorsports was quick to confirm the extension with its 27-year-old driver.
In the midst of his third year driving full-time for car owner Rick Hendrick, Bowman currently sits a career-high fourth in the Cup standings. The Tucson, Arizona native is coming off a 2019 season of personal bests that saw him record his first Cup win at Chicagoland Speedway and secure his second consecutive playoff berth with No. 88 crew chief Greg Ives.
