F4 News: PREMA announces Wheldon for 2025 F4 Program
Sebastian Wheldon will be joining PREMA Racing for the 2025 Formula 4 season, the team announced.
Born in St. Petersburg, Florida, Wheldon is coming off an extremely positive Formula 4 debut which included securing a scintillating win from pole in his first F4 race at Abu Dhabi, home to the Formula Trophy Championship finale.
Wheldon is the son of the late Dan Wheldon, a legendary INDYCAR and Indy 500 Champion. Having started his karting career at the age of 5, he competed in North America in the early stages of his career and made his single-seater debut by winning the Skip Barber Formula Race Series title in 2023. For 2024, he moved to the USF Juniors championship with four wins to his name.
Wheldon is part of Andretti Global’s driver development program supported by Gainbridge, a leading national provider of annuity products that successfully established relationships across multiple American sporting teams and assets.
Wheldon will be competing in the Italian Formula 4 Championship and in the recently-rebranded E4 Championship, while additional entries will then be announced in due course.
Angelo Rosin – Team Founder
“Sebastian is a very welcome addition to our team. He had his karting career and made his first starts in the United States, so he was not really on the radar for European racing, and when we first saw him into action, he was very impressive. He will start from good foundations and we are sure we will work up from there. We enjoyed working together so far and we are sure there are positive steps to come.”

“I feel very excited about joining PREMA and want to thank Gainbridge for the continued support. It will be a new experience for me to race on the European circuit and I can’t wait for the season to start.”
