TV News: USA Motorsport Weekend TV Ratings

TV ratings for the NASCAR race at Martinsville and the Formula 1 race at São Paulo Brazil last weekend.

Because the São Paulo Grand Prix was affected by weather and was not run and telecast as scheduled, it will not be included in ESPN’s season-long viewership averages for Formula 1.

The race telecast averaged a combined audience of 614,000 across the ESPNU and ESPN2 telecasts. Audiences peaked from 12:45-1 p.m. ET at 921,000 viewers on ESPN2.

Originally scheduled to start at noon ET on ESPN2, the race was rescheduled by Formula 1 on Saturday evening to start at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. Due to the rescheduling, ESPN aired the first 68 minutes of the race exclusively on ESPNU, and then ESPN2 joined the telecast in progress after the conclusion of the New York City Marathon coverage at 11:30 a.m.
