The provisional 2025 MotoGP calendar has been published by the FIM and includes 22 races (44 including sprints), 18 countries and five continents.
MotoGP returns to Brno for the first time since 2020 on July 18-20 after signing a five-year deal with Dorna. As things stand, Balaton Park in Hungary will make its MotoGP debut on August 22-24, pending it’s homologation.
A bumper 22-race season has been revealed for next year starting in Thailand and finishing in Valencia, while Hungary is the new addition to the record-breaking year.
After attempts to stage record 22-race seasons in 2023 and 2024 were thwarted, they will press on in 2025.
All 19 races that will take place in 2024 have been retained, while Argentina is on the card after it did not take place in April.
The new additions are Brno and the Czech Motorcycle Grand Prix, which will return for the first time since 2020 and a new race at Hungary.
The Hungarian Motorcycle Grand Prix will be staged at a new 4.115km Balaton Park Circuit.
The Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix will take place at Phillip Island for a 28th time on October 19.
Thailand will host the season opener as Qatar moves to round 4, while the British Grand Prix has been brought forward to May 25.
The season begins with four flyways, with Thailand hosting round one on February 28 – March 2. It’s the first time in 25 years that the opening round has taken place in Southeast Asia, and the first-time ever in Thailand.
This is followed by trips to Argentina, America and Qatar, before the paddock heads to Europe for the Spanish Grand Prix at Jerez on April 25-27. Notable date changes during the European rounds include the British Grand Prix at Silverstone being moved from August to May 23-25, as well as the Aragon round which moves forward to June 6-8.
