IndyCar: Saturday Morning Report from the Music City Grand Prix

Good morning from Nashville Superspeedway, where the final race of the NTT INDYCAR SERIES 2024 season will be held. The championship will be decided this Sunday in Lebanon, TN.

The skies are cloudy right now, and temperatures are in the mid-70s. It will get warmer, and we will probably see some rain later this afternoon, but it is predicted for later.

The points leader, Alex Palou, will take a nine-position grid penalty for an unapproved engine change after the Milwaukee Mile weekend.  Depending on his qualifying effort, this might give Will Power an advantage in the points race.

The schedule today is as follows, and it is all in CT.

Qualifying                              1:15 pm

High-Line Practice             4:15 pm

Last night, in the famous downtown area on Broadway, there was a pit stop competition to showcase the teams’ speed when performing pit stops. Andretti Global’s Marcus Ericsson won the contest, beating Ganassi Racing’s Scott Dixon in the final round.
