Formula 1 News: Lawson completes 2 test days at Monza
As the wait for a Formula One seat continues, New Zealander Liam Lawson has undergone not one, but two days of testing at Italy’s Monza circuit.
Following Sunday’s Italian Grand Prix, four teams remained at Monza to undergo testing for tire-maker Pirelli in preparation for the 2025 season.
However, given two of those teams are Red Bull and affiliate Racing Bulls, Lawson had two separate opportunities across the two days to accrue valuable experience behind the wheel of a Formula One car.
On Monday, Lawson completed 104 laps at Monza in Red Bull’s RB20 car, and did the same for Racing Bulls’ VCARB01 on Tuesday.
It comes at a time when decision-makers at Red Bull are under pressure to finalize his future for the coming season. or cut him loose.
Mid-September is the contractual deadline that Red Bull must guarantee the Kiwi a seat, or else risk losing him to another team.
