NASCAR News: Race officials penalize Daytona Xfinity Cheaters

NASCAR’s Wawa 250 event at Daytona International Speedway has resulted in officials issuing L1-level penalties (penalize) to three Xfinity Series teams for unapproved modifications to their vehicles’ body panels.

The teams penalized were Jordan Anderson Racing, RSS Racing, and Alpha Prime Racing. Specifically, these infractions involved alterations to the body and rear bumper cover extensions, governed under sections 14.4.A and 14.4.11 C&D of the NASCAR Rule Book.

Those penalized were severe: each team lost 20 overall points and five playoff points, substantially impacting their standings in the season. Additionally, each team’s crew chief faced a hefty $25,000 fine.

Jeb Burton of Jordan Anderson Racing, Kyle Sieg of RSS Racing, and Caesar Bacarella of Alpha Prime Racing were the drivers impacted by these penalties, putting them and their teams at a significant disadvantage as they navigate the remainder of the racing season.
