F1 News: Gasly tops Dutch GP Practice 3 after Sargeant crashes

Final practice for the 2024 Dutch GP at Zandvoort was hit by rain again and by American Logan Sargeant’s big crash.

Some of the drivers got in one lap at the very end of the wet session after soon to be demoted to IndyCar driver Sargeant wadded up his Williams F1 car and did so much damage to the Armco it took crews most of the 1-hour session to fix it.

Alpine driver Pierre Gasly was one of the drivers to get one lap in at the end and his time of 1m20.311s was the fastest of the session.

Kevin Magnussen was 2nd fastest in his Haas, 0.139s behind Gasly.

Third quick was Saber driver Valtteri Bottas, 0.844s behind Gasly.

Lando Norris was 4th in his # McLaren, 1.076s behind Gasly while Fernando Alonso rounded out the top-5 for Aston Martin.

No time on the board for Yuki Tsunoda or Sergio Perez, in the heavily disrupted session.

The drivers will have to contend with whatever the weather gods throw at them for an expected wet qualifying – and do so with very little lap time under their belts this morning because of Logan Sargeant.
