IndyCar News: Samaritan’s Purse to Sponsor Palou at WWTR
International relief organization Samaritan’s Purse will be the primary partner on Chip Ganassi Racing’s (CGR) No. 10 Honda driven by Alex Palou at Saturday’s Bommarito Automotive Group 500 at World Wide Technology Raceway outside St. Louis.
Samaritan’s Purse is a nonprofit organization that brings both physical and spiritual aid to victims of war, natural disasters, disease, famine, poverty, and persecution in more than 100 countries.
Samaritan’s Purse recently responded to the devastation left by Hurricane Beryl in Grenada, St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Jamaica, with operations currently ongoing in southeast Texas.
The organization operated an emergency field hospital on the island of Carriacou in Grenada, and several relief flights by one of its cargo planes have provided shelter and clean water across the Caribbean. Kyffin Simpson, CGR’s driver of the No. 4 Journie Rewards Honda, is from the Caribbean nation of the Cayman Islands, and CGR is proud to support aid to the region following Beryl.

Quoteboard:
- Chip Ganassi, owner, Chip Ganassi Racing: “We are very pleased to have Samaritan’s Purse on the car for the St. Louis race. The work and support they provide in areas hit hardest by disasters is remarkable. Whether it is shelter, clean water, medical care or other support, Samaritan’s Purse is right there when areas hit hardest need them the most and we couldn’t be prouder to represent the work they do.”
- Franklin Graham, president of Samaritan’s Purse: “I’ve known Chip Ganassi for many years and it’s a privilege to be a part of this event. I’m so thankful one of our long-time partners and friends donated this tremendous sponsorship to Samaritan’s Purse, giving us the opportunity to be a part of this exciting race and share what we are all about. Wherever we go, whatever we do, the help we bring is in Jesus’ Name. I want people to know that God loves them, and no matter what storm they are facing in life, He hasn’t forgotten them. I want them to know they can find hope in His Son, Jesus Christ. That’s the bottom line of our work at Samaritan’s Purse.”
