NASCAR News: Coca-Cola to sponsor Chase Elliott at Richmond
Hendrick Motorsports announced that Coca-Cola will be the primary sponsor of Chase Elliott’s No. 9 Chevrolet for Sunday’s Cook Out 400 at Richmond Raceway.
Chase Elliott will be rocking a new paint scheme for Sunday’s Cook Out 400. On Tuesday, Hendrick Motorsports announced that Coca-Cola will sponsor the No. 9 Chevrolet driver at Richmond Raceway over the weekend, replacing Hooters.
Ahead of the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series season, Coca-Cola became the official beverage partner of Elliott and the No. 9 team. Though the 28-year-old has served as a member of the Coca-Cola Racing Family over the last two years, Sunday’s race marks the first time he’s been given a primary sponsorship.
Hooters was initially supposed to sponsor Elliott at the Cook Out 400, the final race of a three-leg agreement between the restaurant chain and Hendrick Motorsports. But the race team terminated the contract last month, citing Hooters’ inability to “meet its business obligations.”
In an official statement, Hendrick Motorsports wrote: “Hooters has been a valued partner of Hendrick Motorsports since 2017, contributing to our shared successes both on and off the track. In recent months, however, Hooters has not been able to meet its business obligations to our organization.
