IndyCar: Pourchaire to Replace Rossi in Indy Toronto
Following an on-track incident where Alexander Rossi sustained a broken right thumb, the Arrow McLaren IndyCar Team announces Theo Pourchaire will race the No 7 Ryde Chevrolet for the remainder of the Ontario Honda Dealers Indy Toronto race weekend.
McLaren initially hired Pourchaire to replace David Malukas, who was injured and unable to drive for the season’s first five races. In May, the team said Pourchaire would complete the season with them. But in late June, Nolan Siegel was hired to replace Pourchaire in the No. 6, and the Frenchman was left with no ride for the rest of the 2024 season.
Pourchaire will arrive at the track ahead of the qualifying session on Saturday afternoon. He will miss Practice 2 as he travels to Toronto from Europe.
Rossi has returned to Indianapolis to begin treatment for his injury.
