IndyCar News: Juncos takes IndyCar on fishing trip to Buenos Aires
Ricardo Juncos, co-owner of the Juncos Hollinger Racing IndyCar team, along with representatives from IndyCar, inspected the Autódromo Oscar y Juan Gálvez in Buenos Aires this week.
The objective of this visit was to evaluate layouts No. 12 (3.503 miles)and No. 15 (3.708 miles – shown), in collaboration with circuit directors and government officials, with a view to a possible incorporation of the track into the IndyCar calendar in the near future.
Although IndyCar has already released its 2025 calendar official, Buenos Aires could join next year’s calendar as a non-points race. Where have we heard this before?
According to Campeonesnet, the tentative times are February or September, although this also depends on other negotiations that are being held with places in Mexico and Brazil.
Although IndyCar is interested in making an excursion to Argentina, this will depend on money (who is going to pay to ship 27 or 28 cars to Argentina, as well as the security and logistics requirements necessary to guarantee the success of the event.
