TV News: Weekend USA Motorsports TV Ratings
TV Ratings for major motorsports event telecast in the USA this past weekend. NASCAR was at Gateway (Cup and Trucks) and Portland (Xfinity) while IndyCar was in Detroit and the NHRA in New England.

NASCAR TV Rating Analysis
NASCAR Cup Series racing from St. Louis averaged a 1.4 rating and 2.46 million viewers on FS1 Sunday afternoon, up a tick in ratings and 14% in viewership from last year (1.3, 2.16M) and the most-watched sportscast of the day — marking the first time since March that NASCAR has topped the charts.
The NASCAR Xfinity Series on FS1 drew a 0.40 rating and 737,000 for racing from Portland, down from last year’s 0.46 and 824,000. Rain-delayed Truck Series action from St. Louis had a 0.39 and 624,000 on “FOX,” down 10.6%
IndyCar TV Rating Analysis
USA Network averaged 608,000 viewers for Sunday’s IndyCar wreckfest race on the washboard streets of Detroit, down 42% from 1.047 million viewers last year on NBC
Episode 6 of Season 2 of IndyCar’s version of F1’s Drive to Survive called 100 Days to Indy aired on CW on May 31st, and the viewership numbers were horrible (169,000 viewers on CW), down 25% from last year
Meant to ride on the coattails of F1’s successful Netflix Series Drive to Survive, 100 Days to Indy just never seemed to have the same impact as Drive to Survive in terms of generating new fans, which sees between 5 and 6 million F1 viewers per episode.
NHRA TV Rating Analysis
Taped NHRA New England nationals Finals garnered a 0.31 TV Rating and 547,000 viewers. The finals rained out in 2023 so no direct comparison.
