IndyCar: Frustrated Ferrucci Pushes Kirkwood
Santino Ferrucci, the AJ Foyt Enterprises driver of the No. 14 Chevrolet, was annoyed after returning to the pit lane in the morning practice.
The American was upset because he thought Kyle Kirkwood turned into him on the racetrack in Turn 8.
Kyle Kirkwood walked down to Ferrucci’s pit to talk with him after the incident when the Foyt driver shoved and shouted at the surprised Andretti Global driver.
“YOU TURNED INTO ME!”

Ferrucci told Kirkwood that he turned into him and told him not to ever do that again. Of course, I am leaving out the colorful words that the frustrated driver used.
Kirkwood smiled as he walked back to his pit box, not understanding what had caused the outbreak of emotions.
When interviewed by TV, Ferrrucci commented that he was trying to get in a clean lap and Kirkwood ruined that. Then he told the announcer, “His boyfriend teammate also did the same thing.”
That teammate was Colton Herta, who won the pole for the Detroit Grand Prix this afternoon.
In the press conference after qualifying, Herta was asked if he had any comment to Santino’s apology and Herta answered ‘No”.
We will have to watch what unfolds tomorrow in the race where Santino will start tenth while the two Andretti Global cars will start first and sixth.
