Formula 1 News: Duracell Bunny Joins Williams Racing for Monaco
The iconic Duracell Bunny will make its Formula 1 debut this weekend as it joins Williams Racing for the Monaco Grand Prix.
The instantly-recognizable pink bunny will be seen clinging to the team’s FW46 car as it races around the historic streets of Monte Carlo at the hands of Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant.
It will feature as part of a spectacular one-off livery enhancement for one of the most prestigious events on the Formula 1 calendar. The eye-catching design is a special collaboration between Williams Racing and partner Duracell to showcase the world-famous battery brand’s latest innovation in battery power, Duracell Optimum.
And it is timed to support the roll-out of a new TV commercial campaign featuring the Bunny which shows Duracell unlocking the next level of power to match the high performance of the Williams Racing team and will be aired in 15 countries throughout Europe and South America.
The special Monaco livery enhancement is the latest in a series of creative partnership activations from Williams Racing, including the multi-award-winning Gulf x Williams Fan Livery Campaign which saw fans pick the ‘Bolder than Bold’ livery used at three Grands Prix in 2023, and the recently launched Lap of Legends project with Michelob ULTRA which uses AI technology for the world’s first Real vs Virtual F1 race.
Duracell joined Williams Racing as a partner in 2022, uniting two brands driven by performance and cutting-edge technology.
James Bower, Commercial Director: “Williams Racing is excited to be giving the Duracell Bunny his first taste of Formula 1 in Monaco, uniting an iconic symbol with an iconic racetrack. Seeing him speed through the famous tunnel and around Casino Square on the FW46 will be truly memorable and we look forward to racing with the power and energy that Duracell Optimum represents. We are always looking to bring innovation to our partnerships and this special Monaco design is a perfect example of that.”
Daniel Sierra, Marketing Vice President, Duracell: “We’re thrilled to collaborate with Williams Racing for this special occasion at the Monaco Grand Prix. As a brand known for powering everyday life with cutting-edge technology, we are excited to bring our next level of power to the world of Formula 1 and beyond, showcasing the enduring spirit of our Duracell Bunny on the streets of Monaco, and the extraordinary power of Duracell Optimum – a battery so powerful it’s used by a Formula 1 team.”
