NASCAR News: NASCAR reveals partial 2025 calendar
NASCAR has announced a partial 2025 calendar, confirming dates for four of the biggest races of the season.
The season-opening Daytona 500 will take place on February 16, the Charlotte 600 on May 25, and an Atlanta race on the Saturday night of June 28.
Championship Weekend, when all three national series titles will be decided, will be held at Phoenix for a fifth year in a row, on October 31-November 2.
Thus, the Daytona 500 and Charlotte 600 dates are essentially unchanged relative to 2024, while the Playoffs reach a climax a week earlier than this year, which features a rare mid-season break due to the Olympic Games (telecast on NBC Sports in the United States, as is the back half of the NASCAR Cup Series season).
While next year’s Charlotte 600 will be the first telecast locally by Amazon Prime under a new, seven-year media rights contract, the significance of the Atlanta race is that it will be the start of an in-season knockout ‘tournament’.
NASCAR Championship Weekend returns to Phoenix Raceway in 2025
Phoenix Raceway’s reputation as a championship-caliber racetrack is driven by its championship-caliber fans. That’s why NASCAR announced today that Phoenix Raceway will continue as host of NASCAR Championship Weekend in 2025.
Three champions will be crowned over three days, Oct. 31-Nov. 2, 2025, as the best drivers from the NASCAR Cup Series, NASCAR Xfinity Series, and NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series will compete for championships in The Valley of the Sun.
“Our fans are the heart and soul of Phoenix Raceway, and they create an unforgettable atmosphere for NASCAR Championship Weekend,” said Phoenix Raceway President Latasha Causey. “They fill the grandstands and hillside and pack the GEICO Gecko Campground, which is nothing short of the best camping experience in all of NASCAR. This makes NASCAR Championship Weekend at Phoenix Raceway an incredible celebration of our fans and our sport, and we can’t wait to keep the celebration going in 2025.”
Phoenix Raceway has been the proud host of NASCAR Championship Weekend since 2020, and it has sold out six consecutive Cup Series races at the one-mile oval nestled at the base of the Estrella Mountains.
Only a limited number of tickets remain for the 2024 NASCAR Championship Weekend at Phoenix Raceway, Nov. 8-10, as fans are already making their plans to celebrate the finale of this historic season. The weekend begins Friday, Nov. 8, with the ARCA Menards Series West and NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series championship races. On Saturday, Nov. 9, the NASCAR Xfinity Series Championship Race caps a day that also includes NASCAR Cup Series qualifying.
And then on Sunday, Nov. 10, the NASCAR Cup Series Championship Race will once again conclude one of the most exciting NASCAR seasons on record. Drivers will battle side-by-side for the coveted Bill France Cup in the fifth-consecutive NASCAR Cup Series Championship Race contested at Phoenix Raceway.
