NASCAR News: Fox to deep-six Daily Race Hub show

FS1 is canceling its long-running daily show NASCAR Race Hub, surprising industry insiders and fans who’ve come to love the program.

Racer.com reported Fox Sports informed employees Wednesday that the final episode will air June 11.

There is only so much money NASCAR can milk from the broadcasting stone before things are no longer viable to broadcast. As NASCAR moves races to streaming entities, FOX and NBC are the losers, so things like Race Hub get axed.

According to reports by Front Office Sports, the existing broadcasting partners Fox and NBC will see a drop in viewership counts once the commencement of the new NASCAR $7.7 Billion Media rights deal in 2025.

NBC, Fox, TNT, and Amazon have agreed to divide the Cup Series race schedule in a seven-year agreement, From 2025, all 38 races will be split between the four broadcasters. The split will be 14 races each for the existing broadcasters and 5 each for the new additions to the deal. However, who will get which Cup Series events is still being processed.

The show covered all the bases for NASCAR fans, from highlights of the most recent race, analysis from drivers and crew chiefs, previews of upcoming action, interviews with stars past and present, and special features such as this 2023 special on some of NASCAR’s greatest rivalries.

Longtime NASCAR reporter, announcer and executive Doug Rice of PRN noted, “So NASCAR Race Hub is shutting down, that is awful. I try not to criticize other media but I despise this decision. Great show with an awesome cast. Well there goes 6pm on weekdays.”
