IndyCar: DJ Ape Drums to Star in Friday Concert at Long Beach
The action at the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach just got hotter as Acura proudly presents chart-topping DJ and Producer Ape Drums to perform during the “Fiesta Friday” Concert, Friday, April 19.
The show will take place at approximately 6:30 p.m. on the plaza in front of the Terrace Theater adjacent to the Long Beach Convention Center and is free to Friday race ticket holders. Space at the plaza is limited and will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Eric Alberto–Lopez, the man behind the Ape Drums persona, is a native-born Houston, Tex. resident who would eventually find great success entering the Caribbean-inspired music scene of reggae and dancehall. From his breakout tracks like “Bashment” to his collaborations with industry giants which include Lil Uzi Vert and Denzel Curry, Ape Drums has solidified his place as one of the most dynamic DJs and producers in the game. In 2019, he joined DJ and electronic dance music trio Major Lazer with founding member Diplo and Walshy Fire.
Ape Drums’ ability to seamlessly blend genres and keep the energy levels at an exciting level during live shows makes him the ideal headliner for this adrenaline-packed event.

The Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach will be headlined by the NTT INDYCAR SERIES, as well as the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. In addition, the weekend will include the Super Drift Challenge under the lights on Friday and Saturday nights, plus doubleheader action from Robby Gordon’s SPEED/UTV Stadium Super Trucks and the new-for-2024 GT America Powered by AWS and Historic Indy Car Challenge.
Friday ticket prices start at $40 for a General Admission ticket which includes the concert and unreserved grandstand seating and prices go up to $185 for a three-day ticket that includes Sat./Sun. reserved seating in grandstand upper levels. Pre-paid parking packages are also available, along with handicapped seating, NTT INDYCAR SERIES Paddock passes, Super Photo tickets and a wide variety of hospitality packages. Continuing a longstanding policy at the Grand Prix. children 12 years and under will be admitted free with a ticketed adult.
