IndyCar: Ilott Fastest in Morning Practice at Thermal Club
Callum Ilott, subbing for the injured David Malukas in the Arrow McLaren No. 6 entry, has taken the top spot in the morning practice with a time of 1:38.7784
Alex Palou, driver of the No 10 Ridgeline entry for Ganassi Racing, continued his streak of being in the top five with a lap of 1:38.8308.
Rahal Letterman Lanigan’s Christian Lundgaard turned the third fastest lap at 1:39.0659.
Team Penske’s Scott McLaughlin post the fourth-quickest lap at 1:30.0716.
Arrow McLaren’s Pato O’Ward rounded out the top five at 1:39.1191.
After 15 minutes of practice, a part of the track inside Turn 5 came up. The track repair team put down epoxy to keep the pavement down in that corner. After missing 45 minutes of practice, the session was extended by 15 minutes.
