12 Hours of Sebring: #31 Cadillac battles #10 Acura at 1/2-mark
Under yet another caution, the #31 Whelen Cadillac with Pipo Derani at the wheel leads the 12 Hours of Sebring over the #10 Acura of Ricky Taylor, with the No. 7 Penske Porsche 963 of Felipe Nasr in third.
Derani retook the top spot through a pit stop sequence just before the yellow, which had the No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing with Andretti Acura ARX-06 of Filipe Albuquerque out front before the caution flew.
When the green flew after the 6th caution the 310 Acura got dusted and pushed back to 4th by the #7 Penske Porsche and the #01 Cadillac.
The caution was for the No. 99 AO Racing Oreca 07 Gibson of PJ Hyett, who nosed his LMP2 car into the Turn 11 barriers.
LMP2 was led by the No. 52 Inter Europol by PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports Oreca of Kuba Smiechowski, while Kyle Kirkwood paced GTD Pro in the No. 14 Vasser Sullivan Lexus RC F GT3 but gave up the seat to Jack Hawksworth during the caution.
