IMSA 12 Hours of Sebring: #31 Cadillac out front at 1/4 Mark
The two front-running Cadillacs have swapped places again at the 1/4-mark of the 12 Hours of Sebring with the #31 Cadillac leading the #01 Cadillac.
Jack Aitken was at the wheel of the #31 Whelen Cadillac, leading Sebastien Bourdais in the #01 Chip Ganassi Racing Cadillac.
As the clock hit the 4-hour mark the caution flew and drivers dove for the pits with the #31 Cadillac entering the pits while it was closed and was hit with the drive-thru penalty and the show running 4th in the table below.
JDC-Miller Motorsports’ Richard Westbrook ran third in the No. 85 Porsche 963 with the No. 40 Wayne Taylor Racing with Andretti Acura ARX-06 of Colton Herta and Dane Cameron’s No. 7 Porsche Penske entry in fourth and fifth, respectively.
On-track action halted as the field sat behind the safety car at the four-hour mark after the No. 80 Lone Star Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo of Salih Yoluc spun at Turn 13 and the No. 33 Sean Creech Motorsport Ligier JSp217 stopped on track.
In GTD Pro, M. Snow led in the No. 1 Paul Miller Racing BMW M4 GT3, after the American driver inherited the class lead when the No. 77 AO Racing Porsche 911 GT3 R came into the pits just before the four-hour mark. The #3 Corvette ran 2nd with Alex Sims at the wheel.
GTD saw the No. 57 Winward Racing Mercedes-AMG with P. Ellis at the wheel continue to lead.
