Formula 1 News: DHL will continue as series logistics provider
Formula 1 has announced that it has agreed a new “long-term contract” with DHL to continue to serve as the logistics provider.
F1 and DHL first started working together over 20 years ago, with the German company playing an increasingly important role in F1’s push for a carbon-neutral future by 2030.
In 2023 alone, DHL used biofuel-powered trucks to transport equipment and machinery through the European part of the season, producing 83% less emissions whilst air travel has been modified through the use of Boeing 777 freighter aircraft as opposed to the fuel-inefficient Boeing 747s.
“As our longest-standing partner, DHL has become such a crucial part of the delivery of our events, so we’re delighted to continue that successful collaboration for many more years,” explained Jonny Haworth, Director of Commercial Partnerships at Formula 1.
“Both companies share a strong commitment to sustainability goals and as a pioneer in gree logistics, we are delighted to maintain our collaboration with Formula 1 to achieve these objectives together,” added Arjan Sissing, Head of Global Brand Marketing at the DHL group.
