WEC News: TF Sport unveils full Corvette Z06 lineup

TF Sport has revealed the full line-up of its #81 and #82 Corvette Z06 GT3 cars in the 2024 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC).

A week after the announcement of the trio who will drive the roaring Corvette Z06 GT3.R #81 in the 2024 FIA World Endurance Championship season, TF Sport reveals the full line-up of its other American purebred: it will be Hiroshi Koizumi, Sébastien Baud and Daniel Juncadella who will race in the Corvette Z06 GT3.R #82 during the next FIA WEC campaign.

The mighty Z06 GT3.R, ready to make its way in the newly created GT3 category of the FIA World Endurance Championship, will count on the skills of Hiroshi Koizumi. The Japanese driver, born in Kanagawa in 1969, has a wealth of experience: he started his career in Formula races and, after winning the National Class of the Japanese Formula 3 Championship in 2014, he switched to GT3 cars and finished second in the Michelin Le Mans Cup 2023. After getting a taste of the FIA World Endurance Championship by racing in the 6 Hours of Fuji 2023, Koizumi is ready to take a step forward by participating in his first full season in the FIA WEC.

It will instead be a debut in the FIA World Endurance Championship for Sébastien Baud. The talented young Frenchman, born in 2000 in Annecy, began his racing career with GT cars, before returning to GT racing in 2022 with a double program in the GT Open and in the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe. After participating in both series of the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS in 2023 and finishing in second place in the Endurance Cup Bronze, Baud is looking forward to making his first appearance in the 2024 season of the FIA WEC.

The Japanese and the Frenchman will be joined by Dani Juncadella, one of two pro drivers supplied by Corvette Racing for the next FIA World Endurance Championship campaign.

Juncadella, born in Barcelona in 1991, will join the ranks of TF Sport bringing his speed, talent and experience: in 2011 he won the Formula 3 Macau Grand Prix, in 2012 he won the title in both the Formula 3 Euro Series and the FIA European Formula 3 and, after being a test driver for several F1 teams, he moved to DTM and GT racing always delivering great and solid performances.

Dani is ready to join his team-mates in the new and mesmerizing Corvette Z06 GT3.R, and with good reason: the start of the 2024 season of the FIA World Endurance Championship is less and less away!
