TV News: Weekly USA Motorsports TV Ratings

TV Ratings for last weekend’s major USA motorsports events – NASCAR Cup and Truck Series at Talladega, and NHRA in St. Louis

TV Rating Analysis

NASCAR

NBC drew 2.505 million viewers for the YellaWood 500 NASCAR Cup race at Talladega, down 11.39% from 2.827 million viewers in 2022, also on NBC. The TV Rating was down 14.63%.

Most alarming: Only 13% of the viewers were in the all-important 18-49 year old range, a horrible result and down 35.65% from last year.

FS1 drew 626,000 viewers for the NASCAR Truck race at Talladega, down 4.13% from 653,000 viewers in 2022, also on FS1. The TV Rating was down 10.0%. Only 14% of the viewers were in the all-important 18-49 year old range

NHRA

FS1 drew only 192,000 viewers for the NHRA Mid-West Nationals from St. Louis Sunday, down 9.0% from 2022 also on FS1. The TV rating was down 16.67%

Only 6% of the viewers were in the all-important 18-49 year age group, indicating the NHRA has a serious case of Rigor Mortis. 6% is the worst result we have seen for any motorsport broadcast in 2023.
