F1: Verstappen once in a generation talent

World Driving Champion Max Verstappen is a “once in a generation” talent, says Red Bull F1 Team Boss Christian Horner.

For the third consecutive year, we are seeing Verstappen dominate his opponents, as well as his teammate.

In the rain, he wins.

In the dry, he wins.

Starting from pole, he wins.

Starting at midfield, he wins.

When he doesn’t have the fastest car, he still wins.

At the recent Hungarian GP, Lewis Hamilton had the fastest car and was on pole. In the race, Verstappen buried him and the rest of the field, winning by a massive 33 seconds.

“I think there was superiority over everybody at the moment. Generally, it has been outstanding,” Christian Horner said.

“And what we’re witnessing with Max at the moment is something that you see once in a generation.

“Like all the great drivers, he just has that extra capacity.

“What we’re witnessing and seeing with him at the moment is his ability to read the tire, to read a race, to extract absolutely everything out of it, Dr. Helmut Marko told Autosport.

“It’s great to see. I think he’s just at the top of his form at the moment.”
