MotoGP: Aprilia’s Aleix Espargaro wins in Britain
Aprilia’s Aleix Espargaro took his 2nd career MotoGP win by passing Ducati’s Francesco Bagnaia on the last lap to win at Silverstone.
Bagnaia finished second after a thrilling four-way battle in changing conditions, with South African Brad Binder third for KTM.

The Italian still increased his overall lead to 41 points after Marco Bezzecchi, his closest rival before the race, crashed out at speed while chasing Bagnaia.
Honda’s former MotoGP champion Marc Marquez also fell five laps from the finish, continuing a grim run of results for the struggling Spaniard who has yet to complete a grand prix this season.
“Our race was complicated from the start as I lost my right wing when I had a small contact in the first lap. Then I crashed in an unlucky situation with Bastianini, but it was the type of crash where you don’t lose any confidence.
“Without one wing I was losing a lot under acceleration, but at one point in the race it started to rain and I was able to make up some ground to the other riders.”
