F1: Pirelli announces tires for Dutch and Italian GPs

Pirelli has announced the slick F1 tire nominations for the Dutch Grand Prix (25-27 August) and Italian Grand Prix (1-3 September).

The C1, C2, and C3 have been chosen for Zandvoort, as was the case last year. Zandvoort is one of the most demanding circuits of the year for tires, especially with the two banked corners (Turn 3 and Turn 14).

But the nomination is quite identical to 2022: this year’s C1 is a new and softer compound that sits between the C2 and the previous C1 (which is now known as the C0).

Monza will be the second time that the new ATA (Alternative Tyre Allocation) format is used, which made its debut at the Hungaroring before the summer break.

The three softest compounds have been selected for the ‘Temple of Speed’: C3, C4, and C5. This is one step softer than last year’s nomination (C2, C3, and C4), which – in combination with the ATA format – could offer a wider range of options from a strategic point of view.
