F1: Charles Leclerc tops rain-hit British GP Practice 3

The Red Bulls of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez never strapped on the soft Pirelli tires and this enabled the Ferrari of Charles Leclerc to top the rain-hit British GP Practice 3 at Silverstone.

Before the rain came, Leclerc turned a lap of 1m27.419s, the fastest of the weekend so far, while Verstappen motored around on used Medium tires working on race setup.

Alex Albon again showed that the Williams cars are fast this weekend as he backed up his top-3 Friday times with a 2nd quick lap, 0.173s behind the Ferrari.

Fernando Alonso was 3rd quick for Aston Martin, 0.365s behind and ahead of the Alpine of Pierre Gasly.

Lewis Hamilton rounded out the top-5 for Mercedes, 0.529s behind Leclerc.

With the rain falling, no one is going to beat the current times that have been set.

How good is Verstappen?  In the heavier rain he was turning laps at 1m38.5s while everyone else was at 1m40s or slower.  Talent-wise, Verstappen is in a league of his own.

Charles Leclerc had a little moment following the end of the session as he had a 360 spin at Vale in the wet.
