F1: Horner outmaneuvers Wolff again

Red Bull have managed to hire Ferrari engine specialist Angelo Rossetti out from under the nose of Toto Wolff.

He was originally meant to go to Mercedes, but Red Bull’s Christian Horner made a better offer and stole him out from arch-rival Toto Wolff’s Nose.

Rossetti will bring knowledge gained on the latest generation of Ferrari engines in terms of the combustion chamber to the new Red Bull Powertrains division according to a report by the Italian branch of Motorsport.com

Described as a ‘specialist in fluid dynamics and combustion’, Rossetti was a long-serving member of the Ferrari team for around 12 years.

Ferrari boss Fred Vasseur recently told Sky Sports F1 that his team are at a disadvantage recruiting from other teams based in England.

“It’s not the same situation – you can move from Red Bull to Mercedes, keep the same hours, keep children in the same school and from the Friday to the Monday you can change and everything is perfect,” said Vasseur.

“If you want to come to Italy, it’s a different approach. You have to change the family environment and so on.”
