NASCAR: Logano receives $255M to develop NC mixed-use community

Reigning NASCAR champion Joey Logano and a Davidson, NC developer received the town of Huntersville’s backing for a $255M “mixed-use development that they say will create 850 permanent jobs,” according to Joe Marusak of the CHARLOTTE OBSERVER.

The plans by Logano and Treenail Development reveal that the Lake Norman-area project, called Town 1 Mixed Use Center, will “include 747 multi-family homes, a seven-story office building, seven-story parking deck and three two-story commercial buildings.”

The Huntersville Board of Commissioners “approved a rezoning for the project in a 6-1 vote.”

Logano’s Catawba Property Investments LLC is the “legal owner of his land holdings at the site.”

Treenail Development President Ben Geisler said that “housing of various types will be scattered across the site, and most will be for rent.”

According to the developers’ plans, seven “will be affordable-housing units.”

The project “calls for 419,300 square feet of non-residential space, including at least 126,000 square feet for offices, 96,500 square feet for restaurants and other retailers, and 172,000 for warehousing” CHARLOTTE OBSERVER.
