F1: ESPN’s Alternate Race Telecast Begins Sunday from Canadian GP
–Press Release–
[Editor’s Note: By broadcasting this show at the same time as the race (instead of tape-delayed), TV viewership for the Canadian GP on ABC will drop considerably, perhaps as much as a 0.5 million loss in viewership. Dumb move.]
A reminder that ESPN’s new alternate telecast for Formula 1 begins Sunday with the first episode of The Grandstand with Daniel Ricciardo and Will Arnett. The program will begin at 1:55 p.m. ET on ESPN2 and ESPN+.
The new telecast will complement the traditional telecast of the Formula 1 Pirelli Canadian Grand Prix on ABC and ESPN+ (coverage begins at 12:30 p.m. ET).
The first two special guests to be announced for The Grandstand are Patrick Dempsey and Marshawn Lynch. More guests will be announced.
