F1: Monaco GP possible race tire strategies

–by Mark Cipolloni–

The Monaco GP will likely be a 1-stop race for all the drivers, unless it rains.

The time lost making a 2nd pitstop for tires is not worth it unless it does rain, which there is a chance it may.

Getting into the lead at the start is crucial.  It will be interesting to see whether Max Verstappen or Fernando Alonso choose to start on the softer red Pirellis to get better traction off the line.

The problem for Alonso is that he has no new tires remaining for the race. All his tires, – hard, medium and soft are used.  Verstappen has a new set of hards and mediums.
