F1: Verstappen Reveals SIM Race To Replace Imola GP
Max Verstappen has given fans what they want with a big SIM race event to replace the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix.
Verstappen will participate in a sim race organized by his team, Team Redline, over the coming weekend. While the roster of drivers for the event is yet to be disclosed, the race is scheduled to take place this Sunday at 15:30 CET.
It is anticipated that the race will be based at the Imola track following fan’s requests as a way to raise money for the locals of the Emilia Romagna area. Extreme weather conditions and extensive flooding led to the unfortunate decision to cancel the grand prix this weekend.
Team Redline posted the news to social media, with a promotional poster of the virtual event with “real racers never quit” written above a picture of the Red Bull. They wrote the caption:
You asked, we delivered: RRNQ makes its long-awaited return this sunday! 🇮🇹🚀
