IndyCar: Hendrick Motorsports has no intention of starting an IndyCar team

Kyle Larson was on hand at IMS Thursday with Hendrick Vice Chairman Jeff Gordon to get a look around the IndyCar paddock and how the Arrow McLaren team run things.

It was also an opportunity to meet the press and get some PR coverage for NASCAR and IndyCar.

Gordon was asked whether he could foresee Hendrick [Motorsports] five or ten years down the road running an IndyCar team.

“I know what Rick’s answer would be if he was sitting here,” said Gordon.

“It would be an absolute no (smiling).

“He loves racing. He loves cars. When he comes here next year, he might change his mind a little bit. NASCAR is always going to be our primary focus, where our history, our legacy lies.”
