TV News: Weekend USA TV Ratings

Rating Analysis

NASCAR

FS1 got a 1.43 TV rating and 2.689 million viewers for Sunday’s NASCAR Cup race at Darlington versus a 1.45 rating and 2.614 million last year. That is down 1.39% in the rating but up 2.87% in viewership.

FS1 got a 0.74 rating and 1.271 million viewers for Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity race at Darlington, versus a 0.58 rating and 876,000 last year. That is up 27.5% in the rating and up 45.09% in viewership.

IndyCar

NBC got a 0.46 rating and 715,000 viewers for Saturday’s GMR GP IndyCar race on the IMS road course. The rating was down 23.33% and the viewership was down 28.36%. Most alarming is that only 17% of the viewers were in the all-important 18-49 year old age group.

The number 18-49 viewers dropped a massive 48.28% from a year ago, indicating that the 100 Days to Indy Docuseries, which was placed on CW to attract a younger crowd to the series, is not working. In fact, it appears to be having the opposite effect. It appears to be turning them off.

IMSA

NBC got a 0.31 rating and 482,000 viewers for Sunday’s IMSA WeatherTech race at Laguna Seca. The rating was up 3% and the viewers were about even versus 2022, also on NBC
