F1 Returns to Miami in 10 days as US Expansion Continues
–by Mark Cipolloni–
May is another important month for F1 with the Miami Grand Prix taking place. It’s only the second time that this race has been held. 2022’s inaugural event was a big success and that was good news for F1. This year sees three Grand Prix races taking place in the USA as the sport bids to become the top motorsport in the States.
Building on the Success of 2022
It took a while for Miami to finally stage a Grand Prix. That’s what happened in 2022 though and the wait proved worthwhile. The race was held at the Miami International Autodrome and it was Max Verstappen who won the first-ever Miami Grand Prix.
That was a good result for Red Bull because at the time Ferrari were a major threat and had both of their cars on the front row of the grid. A big win for Red Bull, but it was also a good weekend off the track. The first-ever Miami Grand Prix proved to be a big success and that was just what F1 wanted to see.
This year the entire circuit has been repaving with a better asphalt mix more conducive to F1 tires and that should make the racing even better.
Making it big in the USA is so important for the sport. F1 is a global sport but just as in most sports or the entertainment world, getting huge success in the American market is a massive step forward. With the Las Vegas Grand Prix being held for the first time this year and the US Grand Prix in Austin at COTA already well established, three races in one year is a major move for F1 and who knows, more races could be added in the future.
F1 Gambling on US Success, and you can too
It’s a bit of a gamble by the F1 owners, but it will be so profitable if everything goes well. Betting on this sport can be such an exciting experience – it makes watching the race that much more interesting. If your driver wins, you win too.
You never really know what will happen next. One excellent site to place your bets with is Parimatch. Registering with them can activate the Parimatch sign up bonus for the next F1 race. It’s good to know as much as you can about a site before registering and Sportytrader has lots of helpful information.
Can F1 become a massive success in the USA? A lot of work has taken place in this bid to break the American market. The Netflix docuseries ‘Formula One: Drive to Survive’ has done a great job in introducing viewers to the sport and learning more about its top drivers. The increased viewing figures for F1 races held in the States has been the result the bosses wanted so much.
The Las Vegas Grand Prix takes place on November 19. It promises to be a spectacular weekend as you would expect. It’d be handy if the title race was still alive by then to add even more spice to the event. Regardless, but all eyes will be on Las Vegas. If three successful races can be held in the States then the future may look even brighter for F1.
And with Las Vegas almost a sellout already, success appears likely.
