NASCAR: Larson could have been killed, roll cage to be examined
Post-race inspection in the NASCAR Cup Series garage after Sunday’s Geico 500 at Talladega revealed no issues. The results are final.
The Nos. 2 (Austin Cindric Ford), 5 (Larson Chevy) and 45 (Reddick Toyota) are going back to the NASCAR R&D Center for inspections.
NASCAR will have a close look at Larson’s roll cage. It bent so far inside the car. Ryan Preece, who does not like Larson, accelerated full throttle when he saw Larson’s car coming up the banking. If that had been the driver’s door, Larson likely would have been killed.
