TV Rating Analysis

NASCAR:

As F1 continues to suck the lifeblood out of all other forms of motorsports, Fox earned a 1.81 rating and 3.129 million viewers for Sunday’s NASCAR race at COTA down 16.97% from a 2.18 rating and 3.731 million viewers last year. Viewership was down 16.14% and the number of viewers in the all-important 18-49 year old category was down a massive 22.82% in one year. NASCAR lost 600,000 viewers in a single year for this race, a troubling omen. The Share (% of households tuned in for the race) was down 12% from last year.

The NASCAR Xfinity race at COTA on FS1 earned a 0.52 rating and 815,000 viewers, down 18.75% in rating and down 24.19% in viewership from a year ago. The number of 18–49 viewers dropped 23.12% in a single year.

The NASCAR Truck race was about even from last year – up slightly.

NHRA

The NHRA Arizona National Finals from Phoenix on FS1 earned a 0.20 rating and 324,000 viewers, down 16.67% in rating and down 19.20% in viewership from a year ago. The number of 18–49 viewers dropped 7.55% in a single year.
