F1: Miami GP ticket sales strong

–by Mark Cipolloni–

With a little over 1 month to go before the 2nd annual Miami GP Formula 1 race the weekend of May 5th, a check on the official Miami GP ticket site (Ticketmaster) as well as re-sale site Stub Hub reveals that close to 90% of the tickets are sold.

The average 3-day ticket price for the Miami GP is reported to be $4,235 (avg. grandstands plus suites) and with 80,000 or more fans expected each day, ticket revenue alone should exceed $330 million.

Last year’s race was a big success, and this year they added more grandstand seats.

The track has also been completely repaved with an asphalt mix more conducive to F1 tires.

It should be another spectacular event.
